A Postgraduate Programme entitled “MA in Theatre and Society: Theory, Staging and Didactics” has been operating since the academic year 2018-2019 at the Department of Theatre Studies - School of Fine Arts of the University of the Peloponnese. The Programme grants a Master’s Degree (MA) with the following specializations:
A. “Theatrology” (Theatre Studies)
B. “Stage Practice : Didactics and Social Applications”
The minimum duration leading to the award of the Postgraduate Degree of Specialization is three (3) semesters of full time study in Greek language (two semesters of compulsory attendance plus one required for the preparation of the postgraduate thesis).
The Postgraduate Programme “Theatre and Society: Theory, Staging and Didactics” focuses on the relation between theatre and other performing arts with society, on the fundamentals of didactics and social applications. The two specializations offered by the Programme combine theatrological with applied research, mirroring the twofold character of the Department (theory and practice).
The accreditation of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of the Peloponnese was carried out in 2019 by a Panel of External Reviewers appointed by the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency. The Department was accredited and found to be FULLY COMPLIANT with the quality criteria of other academic units in the same academic field internationally.
